About Jimmy
Builder & Believer
Construction runs in my blood. I’ve been around residential building for as long as I can remember. My father and his two older brothers still build homes together. It’s a family legacy I’m proud to carry forward. I started working with them, and by 15, I knew how to build a house from the ground up. We did everything by hand—no shortcuts, just old-school craftsmanship.
Eventually, I stepped out on my own. And business was going well... until 2020. Of course Covid changes all of our lives and demanded some hard decisions and hard set backs.
Then, in God’s perfect timing, something better came. During our plans for a missions trip to Africa, we learned of a new bit of land and began negotiations.
This trip to Africa changed me. We visited remote villages, sharing the Gospel with people living in deep poverty—yet overflowing with joy. It wrecked me in the best way. I saw firsthand that true joy doesn’t come from what we have, but Who we have.
That’s when I met William Collins, a fellow contractor from Georgia.
Our connection was instant. We talked about faith, life, and eventually, working together. When we got back home, the realtor informed us that the land had dropped in price and we got it.
That’s when we formed
Gracewood Farms LLC
A partnership built on shared values, trust, and divine timing. God didn’t bring us together in a boardroom… but halfway across the world.
Why Collins Homes
William is a 3rd generation craftsman. He leads a team that offers custom home-building services, along with renovations, additions, garage builds, pool houses, and carports in the West Georgia region.
Though still growing, Collins Homes has made strides in the home building business.
In 2023, I participated in a mission trip to Malawi, Africa, with a group of approximately 40 people. This trip marked my first opportunity to visit and see the Passion Center's Early Childhood Development completed project. Initially, I was unacquainted with the other participants, but I soon connected with many inspiring individuals. Among them was Jimmy, whose shared profession as a builder and background in real estate development gave us much in common.
Over the two weeks, Jimmy and I formed a strong bond. After returning home, we maintained contact and began supporting each other’s business endeavors. When the Gracewood Farm project arose in North Carolina, Jimmy reached out to collaborate with our Georgia-based team. By combining our resources with his on-site expertise, we formed an effective partnership for the project that we are excited to see the fruit of.
